IMPZ stands for International Media Production Zone, the former name of Dubai Production City, which is run by TECOM Group as a free zone and freehold area in the Me'aisem part of Dubai. Most homes are mid-rise towers, and City Centre Me'aisem mall stands near the junction of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Al Khail Road. Because many towers share a name and differ only by a letter or number, the exact tower matters more than the district.

Arriving at DXB

From DXB (Terminals 1, 2 and 3; Emirates uses Terminal 3), send the terminal, flight number, landing date and time in UAE time, and your full tower name with its letter or number. The driver meets you in the arrivals area holding a name board. The team follows the flight's status, so a delayed landing moves the pickup, and 30 minutes of free waiting time is included. A property guide lists Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Al Khail Road as the roads to the zone, and the driver chooses the route on the day.

Leaving for your flight

To leave IMPZ for a flight, give the pickup time you want in UAE time, then the tower name with its letter or number and your flat. Airlines publish their own check-in advice, so we plan around the time you set. Bring bags down to the entrance before the car arrives, and keep your phone on. If you are travelling with children or a lot of luggage, include the numbers so the right vehicle is quoted. For a return trip, send both journeys in one message so the tower details stay the same, and mention if your pickup time moves.

Flying from Al Maktoum International (DWC)

Al Maktoum International (DWC) is in Dubai South, in the Jebel Ali part of the emirate. Production City residents whose airline uses DWC can ask for it directly, and the quote will match the airport you name. Only some airlines operate from DWC, so read the code on your ticket instead of assuming. If your trip uses DXB one way and DWC the other, state the airport for each leg. The service is the same at both: flight tracking, a name board and 30 minutes of free waiting time.

Pickup and drop-off tips for Dubai Production City

Tower name plus letter or number

Property listings write an IMPZ building as a name followed by a letter or number, for example Lakeside Tower B, Lago Vista C, Centrium Tower 1, The Crescent A or Dania 2. Send the name exactly as it appears in your tenancy or booking, with your flat number, because the letter or number is what separates neighbouring blocks. A pin from your phone helps further.

One zone, several names

Your host may write IMPZ, Dubai Production City or just Production City, and the City Centre Me'aisem address reads 'IMPZ, Dubai Production City, Me'aisem 1'. The first three are the same zone, and Me'aisem 1 is the area name that goes with it. It is not Dubai Studio City or Dubai Sports City, which have their own pages here. Copy the address as given and add the tower.

A mall entrance as an anchor

City Centre Me'aisem opened in 2015 and its address is on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. If a tower is hard to reach, name a mall entrance and agree it with the team ahead of time, rather than changing the meeting point on the day. Tell us which entrance you will use and share a pin.

Short visitor parking

A property guide says most buildings give about one allocated space per flat, and that visitor street parking is limited and can be busy. A driver may have to stop briefly at the kerb or a little way from your door. Be at the entrance with your bags ready, and tell us which side of the tower faces the street.

A free zone and a residential neighbourhood

Wikipedia calls Dubai Production City a free zone and freehold area, and TECOM Group describes it as a community for publishing, printing and packaging industries. So a pickup may be at a home or at a business address. For office pickups, send the company name, the building and the floor. For a visit to a business, ask your host whether the building needs visitors registered, and pass any reception name or pass details to us. Residential pickups at a tower need the tower name with its letter or number, as above.

Which vehicle suits a Dubai Production City transfer?

Production City is mostly apartments, so one or two travellers fit a sedan (Toyota Camry or Nissan Altima class, up to 3 passengers with 2 large bags) and a family fits an SUV (Toyota Prado or GMC Yukon class, up to 5 passengers with 4 large bags). Company visitors can ask for a luxury executive car (Mercedes-Benz S-Class class, up to 3 passengers). A van (Toyota Hiace class, 6 to 14 seats) suits colleagues or relatives travelling together, and a mini bus or coach covers 15 or more. Models are 'or similar', and the final vehicle is confirmed with the quote.
