Bur Dubai and historic Creek

Bur Dubai Airport Transfers

A private car between Bur Dubai and Dubai International (DXB) or Al Maktoum International (DWC) starts with a WhatsApp message or a call. Send your hotel or building, flight number and the date and time in UAE time, and we reply with a tailored quote. Flights are followed, so an arrival pickup moves with the real landing, and the driver meets you in the arrivals area with a name board.

Bur Dubai is the historic district on the western side of the Creek, opposite Deira. It holds the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood with its narrow lanes and wind towers, the Textile Souk beside the Bur Dubai abra station, BurJuman and Al Shindagha, along with apartment blocks and small hotels. DXB is on the other bank, so a trip to or from the airport crosses the Creek by one of its bridges or the Al Shindagha Tunnel, and the pickup time needs room for that crossing.

Bur Dubai to and from the airport

Arriving at DXB

DXB lies across the Creek from Bur Dubai, so the journey from arrivals crosses one of the Creek's bridges or the Al Shindagha Tunnel. Tell us the terminal (Terminals 1, 2 and 3, with Emirates at Terminal 3), your flight number, the landing date and time in UAE time and the exact hotel or building. The team follows the flight status, so a late landing moves the pickup. Your driver meets you in the arrivals area with a name board, and 30 minutes of free waiting time is included. A named building and a map pin help most in the older streets.

Dubai International (DXB) guide

Leaving for your flight

For a flight from DXB, give your flight time and the pickup time you want, in UAE time, with the hotel or building and a map pin. Airlines publish their own advice on when to reach the airport, so check yours first. The Creek bridges are busy at rush hour, which is a good reason to settle the pickup time before the day. Say where the car can reach, and send a phone number that works in the UAE. A return arrival can be quoted together with the outward trip.

DWC

Flying from Al Maktoum International (DWC)

Al Maktoum International (DWC) is in Dubai South, near Jebel Ali, on the south-western side of Dubai. From Bur Dubai it is a cross-city journey, so ask for a quote early if your flight leaves from DWC. Send the airline, flight number, date and time in UAE time and your hotel or building. Check the airport code on your ticket, since DXB and DWC are in different parts of Dubai. Both airports are handled in the same way: a tailored quote first, then the team confirms the arrangements.

Pickup and drop-off tips for Bur Dubai

Heritage lanes

The sikkas of Al Fahidi, the narrow lanes between the old courtyard houses, leave a car little room to manoeuvre. If your guesthouse is inside the quarter, give its name and the nearest road you can walk to, and we will plan the car to wait there. Send a pin of the guesthouse door as well, so the driver can call you with directions.

Textile Souk and Meena Bazaar

Streets around the Textile Souk and Meena Bazaar are lined with shops, and stopping space is limited. Pick a hotel entrance or a main-road corner and name the nearest landmark, for instance the abra station or BurJuman. A driver can find a named building faster than a half-remembered lane. If you are carrying bags from the textile shops, give the number of bags too.

Hotel blocks and metro-side apartments

Many Bur Dubai buildings stand close together near the Al Ghubaiba, Sharaf DG and BurJuman stations. Give the building name, the street and the metro station nearest the door, plus the floor if you are collected from an office. Mention whether the entrance faces the main road or a side street, because that decides where the car waits.

Coming off the abra from Deira

If you cross by abra and want a car on the Bur Dubai side, tell us you are at the Bur Dubai abra station and name a road nearby. The station is a busy landing, so we plan the pickup a little way along the road rather than at the water's edge.

Good to know

Check which bank of the Creek you are on

A hotel name with Creek in it can be on either bank. Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek, for example, is in Deira, across the water from Bur Dubai, and the route from there to the airport is different. When you ask for a quote, give the street as well as the hotel name and send a map pin. That lets the team plan from the right side of the Creek from the start. The same goes for the abra: the Deira Old Souk station and the Bur Dubai station are on opposite banks, and a driver sent to the wrong one starts the trip on the wrong side of the Creek.

Vehicles

Which vehicle suits a Bur Dubai transfer?

A sedan (Toyota Camry or Nissan Altima class, up to 3 passengers with 2 large bags) suits solo travellers and couples, and it is easier to place on the busy side streets. Families staying in apartments near BurJuman can travel with several cases, and an SUV (Toyota Prado or GMC Yukon class, up to 5 passengers with 4 large bags) gives them space. Business guests can ask for the luxury executive car (Mercedes-Benz S-Class class, up to 3 passengers). Larger families and groups of 6 to 14 fit a van (Toyota Hiace class), and 15 or more need a mini bus or coach. Models are 'or similar', confirmed with your quote.

Questions

Bur Dubai transfer questions

Something else? Ask us on WhatsApp and include your flight or pickup time.

Can a car enter the lanes of Al Fahidi?

The lanes between the old houses are narrow, so we plan to meet at the nearest road a driver can reach. Send the guesthouse name and a map pin, and the driver will call you when they are close.

I am near the Bur Dubai abra station. Where will the driver meet me?

At a road close to the station rather than on the landing itself, which is busy with passengers. Tell us the road, or a nearby shop, hotel or landmark, when you ask for the quote.

Which bridge will the driver use from DXB?

The route crosses the Creek by one of its bridges or the Al Shindagha Tunnel, and the driver chooses according to the traffic on the day. What helps us most is the exact building, so we plan from the correct side.

Is the metro a good way to the airport from Bur Dubai?

Al Ghubaiba, Sharaf DG and BurJuman are on the Green Line, and BurJuman connects to the Red Line, which has stations at Airport Terminals 1 and 3. With heavy luggage, a group or an early flight, a car at the door is easier.

Can a large family leave from a Bur Dubai apartment in one vehicle?

Often yes. A van seats 6 to 14, and an SUV takes 5 passengers with 4 large bags. Tell us the number of people and bags, and the final vehicle is confirmed with your quote.
