Meydan Racecourse opened on 27 March 2010 on the site of the former Nad Al Sheba Racecourse. The Dubai Racing Club describes the Meydan Grandstand as seating more than 60,000, with The Meydan Hotel, which has 285 rooms and suites, alongside it. Around them, Meydan Avenue and other Meydan City developments add apartments, offices and shops. A pickup can therefore be a hotel lobby, a grandstand entrance or an apartment block, and each needs its own exact name.

Meydan to and from the airport

Arriving at DXB

For a DXB arrival heading to Meydan, send the terminal (DXB has Terminals 1, 2 and 3, and Emirates uses Terminal 3), the flight number, the landing date and time in UAE time, and the exact venue, hotel or building. The driver waits in the arrivals area with a name board, and the team follows the flight's status so a delay moves the pickup. 30 minutes of free waiting time is included. Area guides place Meydan City near Ras Al Khor Road (E44) and Al Ain Road (E66), and the driver chooses the way in on the day.

Leaving for your flight

For a flight out of Meydan, tell us the pickup time you want in UAE time, the airport and terminal, the hotel, building or entrance, and the number of people and bags. Airlines publish their own check-in advice, so we plan the pickup around the time you choose. If you are leaving after a race meeting or event, give the time you expect to finish, keep your phone on and message the team if the schedule slips. Flying from Al Maktoum International (DWC)

Al Maktoum International (DWC) is in Dubai South, and your airline decides whether you fly from there or from DXB. Check the three-letter code on your ticket. Race visitors flying in from abroad may land at either airport, so send the flight number with the code. If your flight uses DWC, write DWC in the request and the quote will match. At both airports the driver meets you in arrivals with a name board and 30 minutes of free waiting time is included.

Pickup and drop-off tips for Meydan

Racegoers: ask which entrance suits your ticket

The Dubai Racing Club's pages refer to numbered gates, for example Gates 3 and 4 for its Kids' Zone. We cannot tell you which entrance applies to your ticket, so ask the club or your host, then tell us the gate or area when you send the request. For the return trip, agree a pickup spot that is easy to walk to, and share a pin from there.

Staying at The Meydan Hotel

The hotel has 285 rooms and suites and sits alongside the grandstand. Give its full name, your room number and the pickup time in UAE time. Ask reception where cars stop for departures and pass that to the team, so the driver and the doorman expect the same pickup. If you plan to leave straight after racing, tell us in the first request, not on the day.

Apartments and offices on Meydan Avenue

Area guides describe Meydan Avenue as a mixed-use area near the grandstand and the hotel, with apartments, commercial space and retail. Send the building name, your unit number and the entrance you will use, with a pin from that door. For an office, add the company name, the floor and a colleague's mobile number in case the driver needs help.

Conference and event days

Outside racing, the venue is also described as a business and conference centre. For an event, send the event name, the hall or entrance printed on your confirmation and the finish time in UAE time. If a session may run late, say so now and message the team on the day, so the driver and your flight plan stay in step.

Race season and Dubai World Cup night

The Dubai Racing Club says the Dubai Racing Carnival runs from November to March, and that the Dubai World Cup meeting is held on the last Saturday of March. Race dates, tickets and entry arrangements are set by the club, so check its calendar before choosing travel dates. If you plan to travel around a race night, send your request early with your hotel and flight details, and agree the return pickup before you arrive.

Which vehicle suits a Meydan transfer?

A sedan (Toyota Camry or Nissan Altima class, up to 3 passengers with 2 large bags) suits one or two guests staying at the hotel, and an SUV (Toyota Prado or GMC Yukon class, up to 5 passengers with 4 large bags) suits a family or a small party. A luxury executive car (Mercedes-Benz S-Class class, up to 3 passengers) fits owners, sponsors and business guests. Groups of racegoers or conference delegates can use a van (Toyota Hiace class, 6 to 14 seats) or a mini bus or coach for 15 or more. Models are 'or similar', confirmed in your quote.

They overlap. The racecourse's official address is Nad Al Sheba 1, while Nad Al Sheba is also a residential district. For a home, give your Nad Al Sheba number and street.

Does your quote include tickets or parking?
