How do I ask for a child seat?
On the quote form, open the section marked “+ Extra stops, child seats or assistance” in step 2 and fill in the child seats box. You can send the same details on WhatsApp instead. Child seats are subject to availability and we confirm them with your quote, so ask when you first request the transfer rather than the day before.
A useful request includes:
- How many children are travelling, and their ages
- Weight and height, if you know them
- The kind of seat you use at home: an infant seat, a forward-facing seat or a booster
- Whether you would rather use your own seat
Which seat does my child need?
That depends on the child’s age, weight and height, and on the seat maker’s own instructions, so there is no single answer we can give in advance. The Roads and Transport Authority’s Driving Safely in Dubai handbook tells families travelling with children to use car seats and includes a guide to choosing one by age and weight. It describes that guide as general information and tells readers to follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
We do not summarise UAE child-seat law on this page. Requirements are set by the authorities and can change, so confirm the current rules with the RTA or Dubai Police before you travel. Then tell us what your children need and we confirm what we can provide.
Will a child seat change the vehicle I need?
It can. A seat takes up a seating position and some space, and every child counts as a passenger, babies included. A family of four with a child seat already goes past the sedan’s three passengers, so an SUV is the usual starting point. Our SUV notes list child seats on request.
Pushchairs add to the picture. Say whether yours folds flat or stays bulky, and whether it will be with you at pickup. The luggage and vehicle choice guide sets out the capacities for each class.
What happens at arrivals when I land with young children?
Your driver meets you in the arrivals area holding a name board, and we follow your flight’s status so the pickup is planned around when you actually land. Getting through the airport with children and a pushchair can take its own time, and 30 minutes of free waiting is included. Keep your phone on and reachable on the number you gave us, so we can find each other if you come out somewhere unexpected. There is more in meeting your driver.
How do I request help for a passenger with reduced mobility?
Two separate arrangements are involved, and it helps to keep them apart.
Inside the airport, assistance comes through your airline. Dubai Airports says wheelchair assistance at DXB and DWC is provided by dnata. Departing guests are encouraged to request it when booking their ticket or at the airline’s check-in counter, and arriving guests who pre-booked should make themselves known to dnata attendants at the arrival gate when they disembark. The DWC page also says to contact your airline for additional support. That request goes to the airline, not to us.
For the transfer, use the “Assistance” box on the quote form or write to us on WhatsApp. Say who needs help, whether a mobility aid folds, and what the pickup looks like: steps, a lift, or a long walk from the entrance to where the car can stop. We confirm what can be arranged when we reply with your quote. If you expect to take longer than other passengers to reach arrivals, mention that too, along with your flight number.
Can I ask for help with bags or for an older relative?
Yes, use the same Assistance box. Typical examples are help with bags or a relative who walks slowly. At a hotel or tower, give the lobby or entrance and say who will bring the bags down. The hotel, tower and villa pickups guide explains how to describe a pickup point precisely.
A short checklist before you send the request
- Number of children and their ages
- Seat type, or your own seat
- Pushchair type
- Anyone who needs mobility help, and the mobility aid
- Lift, steps or kerb details at the pickup address
