Arriving at DXB

From DXB to a camp in Lahbab or Margham, send the terminal (DXB has Terminals 1, 2 and 3, and Emirates uses Terminal 3), the flight number, the landing date and time in UAE time, the camp or property name and the map pin. The driver meets you in the arrivals area holding a name board, the team follows the flight's status, and 30 minutes of free waiting time is included. If you arrive early for an evening programme, say so, and give the time the camp expects you. Mention the meeting point the camp gave you so the driver can head there.

Leaving for your flight

For a flight from Lahbab or Margham, tell us the airport, the flight number and the time you want to be collected in UAE time, with the meeting point the camp agreed. Flying from Al Maktoum International (DWC)

Al Maktoum International (DWC) is in Dubai South, on the south-western side of Dubai, while Lahbab is described as an area of eastern Dubai. A DWC arrival bound for a camp therefore crosses much of the emirate, so send the flight number and the camp name early. Write DWC in the request if that is your airport. Pickup and drop-off tips for Lahbab

Camp or property name first, pin second

Copy the name exactly as the camp or host gave it, then send a location pin from your phone's map. There are no building numbers to rely on, so these two details do the work of an address. If the host sends coordinates or a map link, forward them as they are rather than retyping them.

Ask for the last road-accessible meeting point

Our cars stay on roads. If your camp is reached over sand, ask the operator where a car should stop and whether they collect guests from there, then tell us that point and the time. The operator arranges the final stretch. Agreeing this in advance means the driver and the camp staff expect you at the same place.

Overnight camp stays and the next-morning flight

Camp guests often leave early for a flight, so give the airport, the flight number and the pickup time in UAE time when you request the quote. A camp's listing may say Lahbab, Lehbab or Margham, and these name neighbouring places. Whatever the listing says, copy it exactly into your request and add the pin. If you are not sure which one applies, send the pin and the camp name and the team will help you check before the quote is final.

Margham and its gas field

Margham is best known for the Margham gas field, the largest onshore gas field in Dubai, which began production in 1984 and is managed by Dusup, the Dubai Supply Authority. It is an industrial facility rather than a visitor attraction. If a camp's directions or a map search leads you towards it, do not treat it as a pickup point. Ask the camp for its own meeting point, then send the team a pin from that location. The same applies to any industrial site on the way: a pickup is arranged where the camp or host names it.

A couple or a solo traveller may suit a sedan (Toyota Camry or Nissan Altima class, up to 3 passengers with 2 large bags), and a family with overnight bags suits an SUV (Toyota Prado or GMC Yukon class, up to 5 passengers with 4 large bags). A van (Toyota Hiace class, 6 to 14 seats) carries a group of friends or a small party, and a mini bus or coach covers 15 or more.
